I first came to camp as a Chickasaw in 1995. I was a camper for 4 years before participating in the LIT program in ’99, and a CIT program in ‘00. I was a Counselor in ’01 & ’02, Assistant Cherokee Beach Director in ’03 and Waterfront Director in ’04 & ’05. After spending 11 summers on the Chesapeake Bay I realized that the YMCA was going to be my new career direction. Upon Graduation from The Pennsylvania State University with my Elementary Education Degree, I accepted a position at the Brandywine YMCA in Coatesville Pennsylvania as the Associate Aquatics Director. From 2008 until 2011, I was the Advanced Program Director at the Main Line YMCA in Ardmore Pennsylvania overseeing Aquatics, Family Programming and Fundraising. I was lucky enough to have returned to Tockwogh in 2012 where I spent the last two years as the Conference Director. My role was to work with all of our user groups and family camps.
I am now the Camp Director, which means I oversee all of our Camp Programs. During the summer, my focus is on staff training, cabin life and parent communication. I work closely to ensure that all staff are trained and prepared to make camp a positive experience your children will remember for a lifetime.
What Are Some Of Your Hobbies?
Outside of the YMCA, I love country music, road trips, sailing, skiing, hockey, football, and spending time with my dog Munchkin. The shore and summertime thunderstorms are great on the Chesapeake, but fall is my favorite season.
What Do You Like Most About Camp?
The feeling you get all over camp! There is nothing like being away and then driving through the main gate, you cannot help but get giddy like a camper and smile. A close second or really just the same are chilly mornings on waterfront road with the smell of the bay blowing in.
