Equestrian Program


Summer Camp at Camp Tockwogh offers a variety of ways to participate in our Equestrian Program.

Equestrian Camp Sessions

For the more dedicated rider and horse lover, we offer our Equestrian Camp. This activity meets all morning and offers daily English Riding Lessons, as well as lessons designed to teach the more in-depth aspects of horse care – anatomy, basic veterinarian care, feeding, tacking, grooming and mucking. This is the ideal program for the horse-enthusiast camper.

Cost:
Sessions 2-4 $375 (10 days), Session 1 & 5 $190 (5 days)
When:
Both morning activity periods
Payment due:
June 1st
Riding Availability:
For beginner through advanced riders
Requirements:
long pants and closed shoes/boots, (helmets provided)
Focus: Riding Lessons and Horse Care

Riding Lessons 

We also offer English Riding Lessons for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders. These lessons are each an hour long, are offered afternoons, Monday-Friday, and teach riders to walk, trot, canter and more!

One afternoon activity period

Focus:
Basic Riding Skills

Trail Rides 

For campers who are interested in the experience and not ready to commit to daily lessons, we offer Evening Trail Rides. These 45 minute rides around Tockwogh’s trails are supervised by our excellent Equestrian Staff and can be signed up for on a daily basis.

Cost:
$15 a ride
When:
Sign ups daily, offered during free activity period (after dinner)
Payment due:
no charge until end of session and only for rides taken
Riding Availability:
open to all ages and abilities
