Book a Field Trip to Camp Tockwogh!

With a focus on adventure programming, your students will develop their leadership and teamwork skills, experience independent growth, and get out of their comfort zone.

Our school trips are:

  • All-inclusive – Meals, activities, and rustic lodging are included in a discounted per person price. Teachers and chaperones pay just for meals!
  • Customizable – You pick the activities and work with our team to plan the schedule based off the goals of the retreat.
  • Collaborative – Teachers and advisors will supervise and bond with the students while the Tockwogh staff provides activities and requested programming!
  • Designed for students in grades 5-12 and available weekdays September through May.

ACTIVITIES

Team Building

After a few introductory games, students will work together in groups of 8-12 through increasing levels of team challenges that focus on group problem solving and communication.  These challenges involve everything from field initiatives to the obstacle-course-like elements of our low ropes course.

High Ropes Course

Our High Ropes Course provides an individual challenge for each student to get outside their comfort zone. After a 50ft climb up the cargo net, students can hop between elements like the balance beam, tight rope, lilly pads, and swings before making their way back to the ground on the zip line!

Climbing Wall, Giant Swing & Leap of Faith

Students can choose between conquering our rock wall, the 40ft climb and jump on the Leap of Faith, or taking an exciting ride on the Giant Swing.  All are “challenge-by-choice” activities meaning that while participants are encouraged to set goals and get out of their comfort zone, they can go as high (or as low) as they choose.

Recreational Activities

Learn a new skill or just have some fun! Our recreational activities are the perfect addition to your trip schedule.

Options include:

  • Archery
  • Axe Throwing
  • Canoeing
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Motorboat Rides
  • Nature Hike
  • Self-led Rec Time (access to sports courts, fields, and equipment)

Evening Programming

School groups that are staying overnight have the option for Evening Programming.

Campfire & S’mores – We will make a fire and provide the s’more supplies – you do the rest! Perfect addition to any reflection or meaningful activities you have planned.

Beach Party – Catch the sunset over the Chesapeake while you enjoy beach games, canoeing and paddle-boarding, motorboat rides, and tubing!

Skits & Talent Show Night – A fun show hosted by Tockwogh staff that allows your students and teachers to get up on stage and be a part of the camp fun!

Tockwogh Cup Challenge/Color Wars – A chance to get a little competitive! Tockwogh staff will lead your group(s) in various minute-to-win-it and silly camp events.

Movie Night – We can set up our inflatable screen and projector for a movie night out under the stars, or in colder months – in one of our lodges or Dining Hall.
